About these terms

These terms of service govern Interview Rehearsal, the PelicanCFO session product for finance candidates. PelicanCFO is operated by Clifton House Consulting Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 12506901.

They do not govern The Pelican Finance Health Check or ongoing fractional CFO support. Those are professional-services engagements, scoped individually and governed by the engagement letter and terms agreed for that piece of work rather than by these Interview Rehearsal session terms.

Interview Rehearsal is currently available on an early-access basis, arranged by email. The purchasing, session-credit and account mechanics described below apply once that booking and payment flow is available. Until then, sessions are arranged with us directly.

By purchasing a session or using the PelicanCFO platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them before purchasing.

These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Clifton House Consulting Limited. They apply each time you purchase or use a PelicanCFO session.

If you are purchasing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

The service

PelicanCFO provides structured finance interview rehearsal sessions. Each session consists of five spoken scenarios, judgment question sets, feedback generated by an AI system operating under a defined feedback framework, and a closing observation.

You speak your responses to each scenario rather than typing them. A retry is available on any scenario.

Session feedback is generated by an AI system operating under a defined feedback framework. Feedback is observational and specific to the responses you give during your session.

What the service does not provide

PelicanCFO is a rehearsal and practice product. It is not a recruitment service, a career coaching service, or a hiring advisory service.

Completing a PelicanCFO session does not guarantee or predict interview or hiring outcomes. Finance hiring decisions depend on factors including context, competition, chemistry, and business need that no preparation product can control.

Session feedback does not constitute a psychological assessment, a personality profile, an executive assessment, or an opinion on your suitability for any specific role or organisation.

We do not make any representations about the outcomes of interviews or hiring processes following use of the service.

Purchasing a session

This section applies once the purchase flow is available. During early access, sessions are arranged by email and any payment arrangement is confirmed with you directly.

Sessions are purchased individually at the price displayed on the site at the time of purchase. UK customers are charged including VAT at the current rate. Prices for customers outside the UK are displayed exclusive of UK VAT.

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

Your session credit is available immediately on successful payment. Session credits do not expire, but are non-transferable and linked to the account used at purchase.

Discount codes are valid for one use per account. We reserve the right to withdraw or limit discount codes at any time. A discount code applied fraudulently or in breach of its stated terms will be voided and the full price charged.

Refunds and cancellations

If you have purchased a session but not yet started it, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting hello@pelicancfo.com. This reflects your statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for digital services not yet accessed.

By starting a session immediately after purchase, you expressly request immediate supply of digital content and acknowledge that your statutory cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 will end once the session begins. You will be asked to confirm this before your session begins.

Once a session has been started, no refund is available. A session is considered started from the point at which you confirm the cancellation rights acknowledgement and submit your first response.

If your session is interrupted or fails to complete due to a technical fault on our side, contact us at hello@pelicancfo.com and we will assess the situation. We will not leave you without a remedy where the failure was ours.

We do not offer refunds where a session has been completed but you are dissatisfied with the feedback. The feedback framework and its scope are described on the site before purchase.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection and suitable audio conditions for the duration of your session. We cannot guarantee feedback quality where transcription is materially affected by poor audio.

Sessions are for individual use only and must not be shared.

You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically reproduce the session scenarios, feedback framework, or any other proprietary element of the platform.

You must not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.

Our liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, though we will take reasonable steps to maintain availability.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any session or purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that session.

We are not liable for any loss of income, loss of opportunity, or other indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or the content of any session feedback.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Intellectual property

The PelicanCFO platform, session scenarios, feedback framework, and all associated content are the intellectual property of Clifton House Consulting Limited. All rights are reserved.

Your session feedback and closing observation are generated specifically for you and may be used by you for personal career development purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or commercially use session feedback without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the content of your spoken or written responses. By submitting responses during a session, you grant us a limited licence to process that content for the purpose of generating your session feedback, consistent with our privacy policy.

Data and privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. It forms part of these terms. You can read it at pelicancfo.com/privacy.

Before your session begins, you will be shown a specific disclosure about what is recorded, how it is used, and how long it is retained. You must acknowledge this disclosure before proceeding. This acknowledgement is a condition of using the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated whenever the terms are revised. For material changes, we will notify you by email where we hold your email address.

Continued use of the service after revised terms have been published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
